Imaginary Friends Shirts

On April 21, 2011, in Imaginary Friends, Stencils, by Team LaRosa

So last week I was lucky enough to have my good friend Allison give me a little shirt making demo at AS220 in Providence. This was great as making shirts was something I had wanted to do for several months now. We did some experimenting with shirts and colors after we got a successful burn on the screen (on our first try none the less).

It was great fun. We printed the shirts off center so that they would look a little more unique, and also played with colors as we went. We changed and mixed colors throughout the printing, some results are better than others.

Can’t wait to put the logo on the back of these and get them in the mail. For this first run of 20 shirts, the goal was just to learn the process, and give them away to friends and artists to promote the work a little, while wearing a killer shirt of course. Fashionable marketing.

So the work is painted and dropped off at the Roger Williams Park Zoo for the Party for the Planet event. Very excited to have the Imaginary Friends series seen by more people, hopefully it will open up some other opportunities.

If you’re in the RI area, visit the zoo today or tomorrow to see this work and work by other local artists.

Leopard Stare Process

On April 5, 2011, in Imaginary Friends, Stencil Process, Stencils, by Team LaRosa

I finished this Leopard Stare stencil a little over a month ago now, but just getting a post up to document the process.  In fairness, we didn’t have the blog yet, and so I don’t have process posts for any of my pieces.  Hopefully I can go back and add them to some extent.  Read on for a detailed process for the Leopard Stare piece finished in March of 2011.
